I had tried playing Super Mairio World w/ the GC controller but it sucked, and so I found the Classic Controller works perfect!!

The controller has a great loook and feel. You have to keep the controller attached to the Wiimote but the Wiimote does not have to be pointed at the TV. You must have this controller or one of the old N64 controller to play the old N64 games. I was able to download MarioCart via the Wii internet connection and it is now stored on the Wii memory. Very convenient! My 6yr daughter loves the old game as much as the new games.

I actually bought a snes->wii adapter, but didn't remember the snes controller being so lame. After I got sick of that, I bought the classic controller in hopes of making VC games play a little better. It did, and infact I absolutely love it, I've a few minor complains like the 2 thumb sticks when pushed toward the center practically hit, and the cord coming out the bottom, though cool on the dreamcast, not so cool on this.

The Wii classic controller attachment is a very good buy, especially for those planning on playing a lot of the virtual console games. It is perfectly suited for NES, SNES, Genesis, and TurboGrafx-16 games, and it works surprisingly well with N64 games for the most part. The D-pad is comfortably big and well-placed, and the layout is similar to a PlayStation controller (meaning it's good).

The only problems that seem to plague the classic controller are lack of rumble (as far as can be told) and some layout issues with N64 games. The inability to customize control setup is a little bit of a drawback, but a firmware update could fix that so it doesn't matter. Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Mario 64 work very well with this controller, and it's an excellent wireless choice for playing games.
