This is a terrific buy! The shipment arrived in a couple of days, and it was a good thing it was prompt because I was running out of ink in the Cyan cartridge. The Brother 640CW multi purpose is really simple to install cartridges, so installation was not an issue. The machine recognized the cartridge instantly.

I am very pleased with the replacement cartridge set. Last night, May 11, 2007, I needed to replace the Black Ink cartridge. I was amazed at how much clearer the black text was. The Brother cartridge was more of a wimpy gray black. The Amazon purchased Black cartridge is far superior.

The lower rated reviews here almost caused me not to buy these cartridges. I will as strongly urge you to do so! They are such a savings, and the quality I have received in excellent. Whew, a price break that really works great!

In short, the ink is good and the photos i've printed look just as good as the Brother supplied Ink.

One thing to note with OEM items, they void your warranty.
And if you do use OEM ink make sure you use your printer frequently. If you dont use the printer the ink will dry up in the 'channels' (for lack of a better word) that supplies the ink to the printhead. I've lost use of the two Brother 5840's because of the ink drying up but have since bought a Brother 420 that uses the same ink, when the problem started with that printer I started printing full page color photos once or twice a week to keep the ink moving which seemed to correct the problem.
