What could be special about toner?.......2007-05-12

Toner cartridges are so amazingly overpriced, you'd think the industry was being run by petrolium, health insurance, or cellular communications executives. Whenever I have to reorder one of these cartridges, I get that same feeling when I get when I pay my health insurance premium or fill up for neary $4/gallon.

The cartridge is fine and all, but why do they have to be so dang expensive? The printer itself is magnificient and puts out beautiful documents in a very short time. My laserjet 1320 is a great printer and it hooks up beautifully with all of my macs. So despite the outrageous price of the ink cartridge, I am always happy when it fits so nicely into the printer and I get some of the great documents it produces.

Brand Name vs. Recycled?.......2006-07-10

I am all for recyling items for our environment, however, I have had several "bad" incidents of low quality recycled toner cartridges. Because of this, I know buy on the name brand cartridge to fit the printer. This vender provided me a name brand cartridge at the best price.

DISenchanted needs to check their elementary school math. 33 cents per page?? And this person is making purchasing decisions? OMG!

Based on today's prices:
Q5949A: $64.78/2500 pages = 2.6 cents per page

Q5949X: $104.15/6000 pages = 1.7 cents per page

The 49A cartridge gives you about 2,500 pages of print.

The 49X gives you about 6,000 page of print, for ONLY about 4 dollars more in price!

The 49A costs about 33.5 cents per page printed.

The 49X costs about 12 cents per page printed.

Why would anyone buy the 49A cartridge and pay almost 3X as much per page of print?

Where I work, I made sure our supply folks order ONLY the 49X cartridges.

They listed the 49X and they shipped the 49A(standard capacity), so like everyone else who bought this product, it is really the standard capacity toner that you are going to get. You may get it at a lower cost elsewhere check around.....
