I got in the mail and its everything I wanted. The only problem I have is the box since it not really travel friendly, but I have another monitor I can use when I move my computer so it isn't that bad.

Superior Quality & Color, Sharp Looking Monitor.......2006-12-31

I was blown away by the negative review here. This is a superior monitor! It is simply the best I have ever used, and blew away all of my expectations.

I've been working in front of a computer screen for 12 years. The VP720b is by far the highest quality monitor I have ever used, and for a pittance of a price. (I recall the days when we spent 2 grand on a Radius 20"). I use it on both Mac and PC units with no problems. I feel it is even better than the high-end Mac units we were using for video editing, at a tenth of the price.

The color is gorgeous! The contrast is extremely easy on the eyes - you will be simply amazed at how much better you will feel compared to a standard VGA, or other LCDs that can be somewhat "washed out." HUGE difference, alone worth the price of switching from whatever you're using today, especially if it's still a standard VGA.

I have had no problems at all with dependability. Unfortunate for the other reviewer, that is bad news. But again, had the monitor two years, no problems. Even after TWO international plane flights where it went through the check-in luggage! Now THAT's RUGGED QUALITY in my book!

Monitor works in 110 or 220 (US or Europe, for example) with just a $5 power cord change. We even use this monitor to watch movies/DVDs on often when we're stuck working late, and it looks great. Played Halo, again, looked totally fabulous.

The comment I most often get from others who see it, is that you can 'get lost in the screen' because the color is that vivid, that crisp and clear, that realistic. It is just amazing, it's more like a window than a monitor.

Finally, with that thin bevel, flat black color and sharp profile, it looks professional and classy on any desk, whether business or design or whatever. And the stand allows for extremely easy height adjustment and swivel or tilt with one finger. Just an astounding monitor, the BEST!

Buy it, you won't be disapointed!

Short Lifespan.......2006-12-01

I purchased 2 Viewsonic LCD monitors and both lasted about a year and a half before the Left side of the screens went dark. No diagnostic queries or interactions could bring them back to normal. I contacted customer support and was told that Viewsonic would do nothing. Maybe I was stupid or naive in not getting a warrany beyond the first year, but I assumed that a good product, made with good parts, from a company that desires to satisfy its customers with a good QA/QC program that ensures thaT quality products are being produced, could make a product (or 2) that would last longer that a year and a half. Faulty assumption. With 2 LCD monitors having the same problem, lasting about the same length of time, and on 2 different computer systems, this strongly indicates to me a non-coincidental problem within Viewsonic. I will not buy anything from Viewsonic again. I will spend a little more, if I have to, to buy a reliable product from a reliable company.
