The FS7550 from Compaq is a 17-inch (16-inch viewable image size) CRT monitor that provides a rich, detailed image for a very reasonable price. The FS7550's virtually flat screen results in less distortion around the edges and an overall crisper image than other CRT monitors. The anti-glare, anti-static screen treatment helps to cut back on harmful reflections and the resulting eyestrain, while the ColoReal color management system helps provide accurate color reproduction.

A maximum non-interlaced resolution of 1,600 x 1,200 and 85 Hz maximum refresh rate (for lower resolutions) combine with a 0.22 mm horizontal dot pitch (0.25 mm diagonal) to provide detailed images suitable for a wide variety of home and home office uses. Detachable JBL platinum series speakers provide rich, 3-watt per channel sound and are independently powered, letting you listen to CDs or MP3s without turning on your PC. I work on a lot of spreadsheets and the quality of this monitor is excellent. Its better than the one I have at work! Matches the silver Compaq Presario 6000 series computers nice also.

I do not feel that this price is a good one and I do not like the tactic that you have to put it in the cart to see the price at all. If it was such a good price, it would be listed and perhaps you need it in so many carts to validate your ad - at any rate, bad business if you ask me.

Great Monitor.......2002-05-09

What a pleasure it is using this monitor after my Sony 15". I have had this one with a new 6000 series Compaq set up beside my 2 year old Compaq with the Sony 15" for almost a month now.

The Compaq display is bright, clear and easy to read. In comparison, my 2 year old Sony looks dull. The whites are not white and the colors lack punch even though I have done all the adjustments I can on the Sony.

It also has a great titanium look and the JBL speakers sound good too.

It also runs much cooler than I am used to with the Sony.

I highly recommend it. You won't be disappointed.
