As comfortable as it is functional

The Wii Remote is equally comfortable in right and left hands and houses just the right number of buttons for gaming- not so many that new players will get confused, but enough so that Wii games don't feel constrained. On the face of the remote are the D (or "plus") pad, a large "A" button which is used for major on-screen actions, and two small options buttons. Between the game buttons are a plus and minus buttons (which often act as "forwards" and "back"), as well as a "Home" button to engage the Wii home screen to change settings or check remote battery levels. On the back side of the controller is a trigger-like "B" button, perfect for timing releases of a bowling roll in Wii Sports.

Thankfully, battery life is excellent with the two included AA batteries, just as with the previous generation of Nintendo wireless controllers.

Immersive intelligence

Along the bottom of the Wii Remote, four blue LED lights indicate which player position the remote is currently set to. The controller automatically connects to the Wii console via Bluetooth wireless technology. Below the LEDs, an expansion port lets you connect a number of devices including the Nunchuck and Classic controllers for Virtual Console gaming (Virtual Console games and controller accessories sold separately). Other features of the Wii Remote include adjustable rumble force-feedback and a reinforced wrist strap to ensure safe use. A speaker inside the remote gives the player feedback about the strength of swings or the accuracy of their moves- such as realistic tennis noises as the "racket" connects with the ball in Wii Sports. Overall, the physical design of the remote is extremely sturdy and of very high quality, ensuring countless hours of Wii gaming fun!

Great thing to buy especially for the Wii sports game. Because having more than one controller equals great fun. A lot more fun than having to share the remote. I recommend this product to anyone.

Works as promised, not expected.......2007-06-06

Well, I ordered one after seeing the specs listed on the page. I was excited because the currency transfer rate promised over Bluetooth was beyond anything previous cash-beamers could handle. However, this is because they're using deceptive claims to meet the promise of $37.50/minute, where the bandwidth normally only allows up to $32/minute. I didn't notice until I had looked in my USB hub and found it was filled with loonies! Those are $1 coins in Canadian currency. Worthless!
So I can only recommend this product for those who live in Canada or are willing to make repeated trips to exchange the money.

It Beams Money!.......2007-06-05

Well not really. The first description of the Product Features says "Beams money through Bluetooth up to 30 feet away"! If only this were true it would save a lot on gas because I know someone would mod it and have a Wii at work. For most of us though, we can't bring our Wii to work and are forced to play them only from the confines of our homes. When you do this, it's best to have some friends over. And if your going to drink and play... be safe and wear the safety strap, enough innocent TVs have died this year alone from PWWI (Playing Wii While Intoxicated). And while you are at it, get a few more Wii remotes like this one. No more playing with a remote covered in someone else's sweat. And if you are a big enough nerd, you can mod your computer to accept the Wii Remote commands.

Good Product.......2007-05-31

Yeah, Wiimotes are awesome. I tried buying a refurbished one before from one of the Amazon merchannts. It was straight up broken - not scratched or anything, just wouldn't turn on, despite trying several sets of batteries. On the other hand, the merchant was understanding, and sent me a refund without even asking for the item back!

Anyway, if you want to avoid headaches, just buy a new Wiimote.
