Most of what other reviewers said is right. Just never drop it on a hard floor. Plus, I can read my Serial number.
It seems to be for large hands, left or right. It is a first step toward a good product. The next generation needs a no-tools battery door or a drop-in battery charger and true 50-foot range. Mine dies at 8 feet away.
The Phaser's internal antenna is not omnidirectional. If you point it at 4 or 8 o'clock with respect to the receiver, it will not work.
I like it anyway.

Didn't Work for Me.......2007-03-14

I had trouble with the device detecting cursor movement and in opening/closing files with the cursor clicks. Since I was using the device in conjunction with my home theater computer, I initially thought the problem might be stemming from electronic interference or the wireless keyboard I also had hooked up. However, after being able to successfully run other handheld mice under the same conditions, I've decided the problem was, in fact, the mouse. Unfortunately, since I didn't come to this conclusion until after Amazon's 30 day exchange period had expired, looks like I am stuck with nothing more than an expensive laser pointer or a cheesy looking prop for the next Star Trek movie.

This is a great product but care must be taken or it will stop working. It dropped a few times from my desk and now it only scrolls up and down.

Great Mouse for the price!.......2007-01-17

For someone who is in the market for a gyration air mouse - this is a fantastic second choice, or First! (This one costs a lot less) The mouse is very comfortable the way it form fits to your hand. I actually like it better than "Air" mice. The roller ball is much more appealling than waiving your arm in the air. There are three minor improvments that can be made: It is not as solid as gyration and feels like a cheap plastic toy at first. You have to punch the little, tiny, miniscule connect button on the bottom each and every time you use it. Also, you cannot optionally use it on a surface. In your lap, standing up, but cannot be used as a traditional mouse.

The laser pointer works fine, but the RF wireless mouse does not appear to work reliably if you wander more than 5 feet from the receiver.
