I had been using component cables for my early-model HDTV, then switched to this on the hope I could then use Wii components (as there is only one five-connector component input on my TV). But... it's as if the detail is better, but the colors seem slightly washed-out. More detail (good), but less colorful (bad). I'm still not sure whether to go back to the cables that came with my x360 - I'm having real trouble picking between the two. I suppose that if I need to read a lot of small text, this would be the way to go, but that hasn't really been an issue. I was hoping for an improvement, but just got another option instead.

I just bought this wire from ****Spot at full price. I heard good reviews about this wire from several different sources, but I've also heard bad things. I did not experience the 'thin film over the t.v.' effect. I have a 42" Westinghouse w4207 Monitor, and at first I didn't really notice any changes. One major change is the descisions between resolutions and the HD Resolutions they give with component. I guess this is good because there are more accurate descisions to make.
My Monitor automatically scaled the image to correct color and size. It is a 720p television, but I keep it at 1080p because the picture is a bit softer (Less jagged edges overall. I assume it is like that because the image is scaled down). I have not tried this wire to upscale any Dvd's yet, but I doubt I'll notice a big difference.
The Forza 2 Demo does look better on VGA, but that is all I've tried so far. If you have about $50 to spend on nothing, just buy this. You'll be satisfied.

EDIT**

The spring update for the 360 has fixed the thin film over the tv, which is why i never experienced it. If you go to the system blade, and display, there will be three options. The third one, which I've forgot what is called, is supposed to fix the problem that you might have. If you are on standard, pick expanded, (or vica versa) and your problems should vanish. The thin film is not the 360's fault, nor the tv's. It's a contrast difference between TV's and Monitor's. Apparently, HDTV's are set at 7.5 IRE, where as monitor's are set at 0 IRE. The 360 sets a default signal at 7.5 IRE, which is probably why you would experience the thin film on a monitor. Expanded mode should set your 360's signal to 0 IRE, thus matching your monitor's contrast and fixing your problem. :) Have Fun

So my HDTV died and is in the stages of RMA. In the mean time I wanted to play my xbox 360 elite. Since the DVI port on my monitor is already occupied, and the HDMI port is used by my new PS3, I bought this cable. It has the standard TOSlink optical audio jack (like the component cables do) which I used to hook up to my stereo system. But what I did notice is that MS goes the extra mile by including A. the little stereo RCA to 3.5mm converter and B. the Gender changer which would be useful to hook this think up to a CRT that does not have an interchangeable VGA cord. Microsoft could probably get by without including these, but they did and it makes life a whole lot easier. There are many complaints about washed out colors through the VGA connection, but in the spring dashboard update, MS included a feature that fixed that issue and now the colors are as vibrant as component and much sharper. This is a great cable to own. Just make sure not to buy the cheap knock-offs because there is a chance that if they ruin your console MS will void your warranty.

VGA is the best conection for de xbox 360, WHY? well is because the VGA have better colors and better grafics, you can use the xbox 360 on more than 720p is the best for gamen...

This cable connected well to my monitor, which was what i wanted it to do. I didnt really notice the HD, but i have a pretty terrible monitor so i dont care that much. The cable is easy to use, and quite long which was nice.
