Product Description

The DVP-NS75H single-disc DVD player offers 720p and 1080i upscaling through an HDMI connection (High Definition Multi Media Interface). HDMI allows the transfer of uncompressed digital audio and video signals to other HDMI equipped components, providing an uncompromised picture. It also features Precision Cinema Progressive technology, which delivers accurate and vivid images to the television. Unlike other DVD players that detect image changes at the Scan line level-Sony's Precision Cinema Progressive (PCP) system detects them at the Pixel level. This results in images closer to the original source data, because separate, optimized algorithms are used to handle the differing Pixel behavior. Precision Drive III mechanism is also included, which helps maximize the performance of DVD collections by reading data even on some physically "warped" discs. Other benefits include a 12bit/108MHz video DAC (digital to analog converter), and 24 bit/192KHz audio, providing high-quality video and audio processing for vivid images and crystal clear sound.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars dvd player.......2007-06-12

Product arrived quickly and the quality of the product is high..........all my DVD's look and sound much better

5 out of 5 stars Awesome.......2007-06-08

Another reviewer summed it up best when he/she said that this player is the perfect DVD player to wait out the Blu-Ray/HD-DVD war.

4 out of 5 stars Nice DVD player, will still want true HD soon though.......2007-06-08

This DVD player performs as described, seems a little slow to get powered up and discs loaded. The increase in picture quality is nice over my regular Sony DVD player, but don't expect it to replace your need for HD DVDs (or Blu-ray) in the future. Until I'm ready to leap for that $$$ purchase, this Sony will hold me over just well.

2 out of 5 stars better with progressive scan then HDMI.......2007-06-08

I baught this dvd player to use with my IN72 DLP projector and though it's native resolution is 480p it can process HD signals. So I hooked up the cables and set it all up.The picture was NOT anything special and it looked alot better with standard progressive scan outputs. The pictures with HDMI were grainy, pixalated and had alot of 'noise' in anything other then 480p even with the HD output. It just didn't look right in any of the resolution settings, even though the projector was able to process all of it's resolution settings including 1080i but it was still pretty grainy.
I tried the standard progressive scan outlet via RGB outlets and it looked ALOT better.Picture was cleaner, colors were richer and it looked alot better then my previous progressive scan, though I baught it for the HDMI upscale, not the standard progressive. It maybe though because the screen is alot larger then standard tvs, even most big screens.Spanning the wall at 70 inchs diagnal it's gonna be obvious if any pixalation was to occur. All in all,it may look better with a standard plasma or LCD but on the projector this one in paticular it just wasn't a winner, not for HDMI anyways but the progressive looked great.

5 out of 5 stars Great product with improved DVD viewing.......2007-06-08

The product worked flawlessly out of the box and we immediately noticed improved DVD quality on our projection system with a 132" screen. The upconversion definately improve picture quality.

Highly recommend and a bargain of a price.
