Product Description

The StarTech.com PC case exhaust fan is an add-in cooling fan designed to fit in the PCI or ISA expansion slots of any computer. It is used to exhaust warm air out, preventing problems due to overheating components. The exhaust fan inlet faces adjacent PCI or AGP cards and makes a great video card cooler for hot running 3D accelerator cards like the Voodoo, TNT2, GeForce256 and others. A quiet running brushless DC motor coupled with a high efficiency blade design is capable of moving 36 CFM (cubic feet per minute) of air. Power is supplied to the fan using a standard LP4 (hard drive power connector) pass through plug.

Customer Reviews:

1 out of 5 stars This fan will damage your computer.......2003-11-14

This fan seems like a good idea, but it's design causes it to become clogged with dust. After a few months, the fan won't be able to turn, and it will generate lots of heat, damaging cards near it. The fan housing actually started to melt before I took it out. This happened with 2 fans of this design. Better to go with a simpler fan.

5 out of 5 stars Fan Modem problem.......2003-01-12

The slot fan works great.
But you must keep the slot fan 1 slot space away from modem card.
Electric interference from fan motor can cut modem speed in half.
My modem went from 48.0 to 28.8 when fan was on top of modem card. Once it was moved 1 slot up modem speed returned to 48.
Excellent airflow and very quiet . Would recommond to every one.

2 out of 5 stars not too durable.......2002-12-11

I got this fan and install in my system since 08/2002. Everything works fine and the noise level is good. 4 months later. It began to make funny noises and it getting worst. So I have to replace it. I won't recommend this.

5 out of 5 stars COOOOL Fan!!!!!.......2002-05-03

Great fan.... The fan moved so much air that I beleive my case was moving forward!!! really... A super fan. good value for the money I spent>

4 out of 5 stars great value.......2002-03-31

Just one thing to note, this fan moves some air! If you want something to keep your case cool, try this out. It fits in any pci slot even in tight spaces, but is best used under your video card.
