Customer Reviews:

2 out of 5 stars Not ready for prime time keyboard.......2007-06-08

Perhaps if I had loads of time to fiddle with it, I could get this keyboard to work reliably. But since I'm someone who would rather plug and play and work, so far it looks like a waste of money. I cannot get the keyboard to connect reliably to my Palm T|X. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't and I can't make rhyme nor reason as to why. Maybe if I spent a few hours on some discussion group or tried a customer service hotline to India and stayed on hold for a day or two. At any rate, I can't recommend it unless you just love to tinker and search the discussion groups for esoteric fixes for software and hardware that should work out of the box, especially for the prices demanded.

5 out of 5 stars Turns my Treo / Palm into a Laptop Computer!.......2007-06-02

This thing is great! I've been using it without any troubles for many months, and have found the keyboard to be nearly equal to a normal computer keyboard. It is built solidly, and is easy to open/close/set up for use. The space bar is split, which took me some getting used to, and the question mark is in a different place, which can be a bit of a problem until you get used to it. Infra-red connection, so no wires. I can fit this into my pocket, along with my Treo, and be ready for conferences, note taking, and whatever else. I have not tried it with any Palm-Based word processing programs, as I do not use those on my Treo, but for those times when you don't want to carry a laptop around, it certainly fills the need for a full-sized keyboard. A quality item, well worth the money.

4 out of 5 stars Wireless keyboard for Palm Tungsten E2.......2007-06-01

I love it!!! I have small hands and am used to a compact laptop keyboard, so I am not overly bothered by the small range of this keyboard. I downloaded the drivers from the Palm Website, so I did not have some of the software issues described by others. (That's because I read the reviews before buying the product!)

The way of opening the keyboard is a bit tricky. The top needs to slide one direction (right, I think), which means that the bottom needs to go left. I found that if I squeeze the device slightly, it slides much easier. The opening mechanism takes some getting used to.

With an expandable SD card, I am able to leave my laptop at home, type my documents, and download them when I get home. Really a savings of weight.

3 out of 5 stars Not compatible with Tungsten T2.......2007-05-04

The description of this keyboard on Amazon states "Palm Universal Wireless Keyboard, compatible with all current Palm handhelds, including M130, M515 &". That led me to believe it would be compatible with my T2. When I started to use it I quickly found out that when the T2 automatically powered down, I lost my connection to the keyboard. It was usually very difficult to re-establish, even though the keyboard application says it is ON. It does not seem possible to completely turn off power saving on the T2, only to change the time, so this is a serious problem. I would have given the keyboard 5 stars if had worked with the T2. I really liked it while it was working for the brief periods before a power down.

Upon checking the compatibility matrix for this keyboard on the Palm website (oh why didn't I do that first?) I see that the T2 is not compatible. Amazon needs to provide more compatibility detail in the description. I suppose you could narrowly define "current" as items for sale, but the m130 and m515 are not shipping anymore are they? I am returning this keyboard, which Amazon is taking back to their credit.

5 out of 5 stars Really happy with this keyboard.......2007-04-03

Folds up relatively small. Works great. I often type homework stuff or talk online/ post stuff on the internet from my palm so this really speeds things up. Really like that you don't need to plug it in because it connects via bluetooth to the palm. Definitely a good investment if you plan to write anything more than a sentence.
