Monitors are small and unobtrusive. Produce clear, accurate sound, and can output relatively high volume. Bass is a little lacking which was expected from the 3.5" driver. Directional stands are included and are useful. Upgrading the mini to RCA plug that came with the unit was a sound investment.

I JUST WANTED A PAIR OF DESKTOP SPEAKERS FOR MY MAC TO HAVE AND CAN LISTEN TO ITUNES WITHOUT DISTURBING THE PEACE TOO MUCH FOR THE SIZE YOU GET A LOT BANG FOR THE BUCK,

Defective out of the box.......2007-05-15

M-Audio is a decent audio company, however, in my case the speakers simply would not power up when plugged in. I can only assume a bad transformer, which happens sometimes - so I'm not saying bad speakers or bad company, just bad luck. I have heard from audio professionals though that these speakers won't cut it as real studio monitors as they just won't give you real reference bass tones, but for $100 what do you expect? I have also heard that they are going to be much better than any other desktop computer speakers assuming they work when you get them.

These M-Audio speakers are just great. Sound quality is truly "monitor" and the build quality of the product is very high. You cant 'go wrong with them.

Clean, Accurate-Very Good Value.......2007-03-28

These seem to be solid, honest speakers. They won't win any design contests. (They look pretty solemn next to my iMac).
The very highest and lowest may be thin but, for my use as computer speakers, they are fine. They are more than accurate enough to reveal the difference in various compression ratios. The bass is tight and controlled. I can see how these may not be 'boomy' enough for some gamers. The high-end is lacking slightly to my preferences but, the sound is not taxing on the ears.
There are minimal controls: A on/off Volume Control and a Bass boost switch. ....that's it. I do appreciate the aux. input and headphone jack. And, I like not having to deal with a sub-woofer.
