These are the best sounding headphones I have come across bar none. I origanally purchased the Shure 500's and was impressed with the bass but thought the high's and mid's were lacking and for over $400 dollars i was not impressed. I returned them and purchased the er-4p's, let me be the first to say these headphones far outperform all others and for under $200 dollars they are a steal. Stop reading this review and buy these headphones if you enjoy music. Only thing i found odd was how they must be inserted into the ear but only takes a few minutes to get used to. Sounds comparable to my two JL 10w7's with 500watts a piece as well as two sets of JL audio Seperates with 100 watts to each mid range and 50watts to each tweeter simply AMAZING HEADPHONES!!!

Small light, excellent sound isolation and fit. Brings your iPod to a whole new level of audio enjoyment. I can't even remember if they were expensive. They sure sound like it. But in any case if you own an iPod and are a sound reproduction snob... you are going to want to plunk open the VISA and take these to the gym without delay. I was looking for a set of headphones or earphones which could cancel out background noise. I did a lot of research into the active noise cancelling technologies and products, and found none which really appealed. I came across these earphones in my search, and decided to give them a try. Using these is like having really great earplugs in, and then having crisp perfect sounding music also come through. By cancelling out all the other noises, you can keep the volume down, and save your ears as well.
