Product Description

Unlike an infrared remote, this RF remote does not require line of sight. It even works through walls and furniture providing more flexibility in controlling the Macintosh with Front Row running. The RF signal works to 60 feet or more about twice the range of an infrared remote. The remote features a 9 button design that allows you to control Front Row, adjust volume, eject a DVD & CD, put the Mac to sleep and wake it up.

I bought this remote to be able to use front row on my powerpc based mac and it works great. I've had it for over a year now and it's still going strong.

This remote works very well, but I only have two gripes...

1. The real Apple Remote sends a return instead of a space for the play button, and so applications that expect that, like EyeTV's full screen menu mode, do not work. However, it does mean that it can pause iTunes and other apps directly without having to use Front Row at all.
2. The signal could be a little more powerful, I think. The angle where you hold it does actually matter at times.
