Customer Reviews:
Not bad, but.......2007-05-28
Bought this 2 years ago. Within the warranty period, the DVI port went out. I RMA'ed it, and received a new card. Again the DVI port failed, but this time it was out of the warranty window so I was out of luck. Tried to contact eVGA customer support to no avail. In brief, it worked fine for most purposes, and I seemed to have no problem with processing RAW images. But don't count on the DVI port to be around for long.
Works with Dell 2400 and 22"LCD.......2007-05-20
I bought this adapter to run a new 22" LCD monitor with a 3 year old Dell Dimension 2400. I am running the monitor with the digital (DVI) connection at 1680x1050. Here's what worked for me to install this card:
I did not change anything in the Dell's BIOS; it was set to Auto in the graphics options. In Windows XP, go to the control panel and disable (don't uninstall!) the Intel onboard graphics. Do not restart, but rather shut down the computer.
Install the new video card and plug in the monitor to the new card. Turn on the computer. Install the driver on the install disk. This driver only seems to run the monitor at only 1280x960 resolution over the DVI port, but will run at full 1680x1050 using the DVI to analog converter supplied with the card. I went to the Nvidia site (not the eVGA site) and downloaded the 93.71_forceware_winxp2k_english_whql.exe driver. I had to uninstall the previous version, so maybe it is best to not to install the driver on the install disk, but that's what I did!
I created a custom timing for 1680x1050 resolution for my particular monitor in the NVIDIA control panel. Choose the "Treat as HDTV" and "Allow modes not exposed by display" check boxes, and create a custom timing for the monitor that works. Refer to the user's guide for the monitor; it lists the values that you would need. It is more than likely that the Auto or one of the pre-selected schemes will work for the monitor that you have. Good Luck, but it seems to work just fine with a 22" widescreen over DVI, with the new drivers. If you're running analog, it will work out of the box with the supplied drivers.
Excellent Quality and Performance.......2007-05-13
I purchased this graphics gard for an HP Pavilion computer that was having problems playing the game MapleStory. It turns out that my computer's integrated graphics did not have enough video ram to play even this simple game. After I installed the eVGA FX5200 graphics card my computer played the game with no problem! Everything has been better since then. If your curser flashes when you place it over playing videos etc. you more than likely need this graphics card. And when you want to show off you can hook it up to your big screen t.v. and play a movie! This card is excellent for older computers that do not have pci-e, or AGP. I only encountered one problem, the small fan used to cool the FX5200 does make my computer a tad bit louder. However, this is a common thing with graphics cards. That is why I give the FX5200 four stars. Still, that is a small price to pay for such an increase in performance. I highly recommend this for people who want to breathe life into older computers that do not have AGP or pci-e interfaces.
nice product works great with me dell demenson .......2007-04-04

need analog output for 16:10 widescreen monitor.......2007-02-07
When I installed this card with a Samsung SyncMaster 226BW LCD monitor with a widescreen 16:10 format, and a DVI digital cable, I could not select a higher resolution than 1280x960 (4:3 format), even though the EVGA spec sheet states that 1600x1024 is available. All images were distorted because the horizontal dimension was getting stretched to fit the 16:10 format of this monitor. Calls to Samsung and EVGA confirmed the latest drivers were installed. Samsung tech support says their monitor supports a 1680x1050 DVI input. EVGA tech support had me switch to an analog cable, and create a custom 1680x1050 resolution (native resolution for this Samsung monitor) using the EVGA classic panel. Using the analog output of the card at the new 1680x1050 resolution gave an excellent image on the monitor. This 22" monitor has 3000:1 contrast ratio and 2ms response time. The "3" rating is because of the limited EVGA resolution using the digital output.
