5 out of 5 stars Memory upgrade for Dell desktop went fine.......2007-06-08

Product was securely packaged, installed without problem, computer found memory without problem, system performance improved as expected.

5 out of 5 stars Worked for me.......2007-04-23

I bought memory online before and had a problems like those described here and had to return it. So this time I went to Best Buy because they had this for $40 and it was either an upgrade speeded things up or I bought a new computer.

It took about 6 tries to get the memory to work- for some reason my Hp requires a bit of finesse to get the memory to make proper contact. I was beginning to believe the other reviews and was mentally preparing to return it before I finally got it to boot up. But once it was in I couldn't believe how well it worked; and now that I know they make stuff like NVidia graphics cards I feel even better. Would have saved the tax and gas money with Amazon.

1 out of 5 stars RAM not detected.......2006-07-30

I read complaints about PNY's RAM reliability, but I placed my faith in PNY and made a purchase. The problem: the RAM module could not be detected by the computer.

I've performed multiple RAM upgrades in the past, and all of them were successful prior to this one. I've also triple-checked that this RAM model is compatible with my notebook, and according to Crucial.com and PNY's own configurator, my exact notebook model is compatible (not just the model family).

I also checked for dust. I swapped slot places for the existing/new RAM modules, and only the original RAM was detected. And when I attempted to use only the new PNY RAM module, the computer rebooted and rebooted and rebooted at the BIOS stage.

The RAM module could be defective, but I'm steering away from PNY after this experience.

5 out of 5 stars If your PC is running slow..........2006-07-08

If you are operating a Windows XP PC with 256 MB,
give yourself a treat & put in some more memory.
I learned that our Dell 2400 had 256MB & one empty
slot, and that a 512 MB PC2700 DIMM module would
fit nicely. Found one here on Amazon (from Tiger
Direct) for a good price. It arrived in a few days,
I popped it in, and the PC has been running like a
top ever since. By the way, with 256 MB, we were
unable to install XP Service Pack 2. After adding
512 MB, it went in quickly (sort of) and easily.

I've bought PNY memory twice before, for an older
Windows 98 PC. On the second purchase, things didn't
go so well. PNY replaced that module immediately.

So, I generally prefer PNY memory.
