Gothic II Gold combines two great hybrid RPG gaming experiences into one -- for incredible fantasy adventure in a lush, 3D-rendered environment. You slave away in a small mining town, eking out an existence mining the exhausted seaside. They were imprisoned there by a seemingly natural magical barrier, until one brave man managed to burst the bonds of imprisonment. He ventured deep into subterranean temples, answering a call to banish the evil that created that barrier. Spurred by the hatred of men long-suppressed, the prisoners streamed trough the only pass to freedom. Enter this world and fight for a man's right to decide his own fate. The original Gothic storyline flows directly into the expansion pack, for gripping non-stop adventure!

Gothic 2 Review.......2007-05-25

I love all the Gothic games and this one is no exception. The graphics are gorgeous and although there are a few bugs in the game the freedom to explore you surroundings is more than worth it. The fighting is a basic hack and slash which you can basically defeat any enemy if you just keep clicking the mouse. The plot isn't all that different than Gothic 1, although it seems much shorter, get strong enough to beat the big bad. Overall it's a pretty good game.

I am a Gothic fan *big time!* Unfortunately, this version (with the expansion pack "Night of the Raven") gave me nothing but fits. It would not install correctly. I did everything I know how to do to try & install it, but I kept getting massive errors & "can't find disk" errors. I did successfully install eventually, & played through the entire game 2 more times (for a total of 10). The Gothic series is worth adding to your collection if you are an RPG fan. I can't imagine having never played it now that I have... & will again.

Gothic 2 is a pretty good game as far as games along the first person shooter go. And that is what this game basically is, even though you use swords and clubs instead of guns. It's about like a lot of other games of this caliber I've tried. It isn't anything really special but, it isn't anything bad either. I would say it is a middle of the road type game for people who like this type of play and it is a lot of fun.

If you are familiar with gothic and gothic 2 then it's still worth it to rebuy for the expansion.
I own all three and the expansion pack makes it a totally different game.
A MUST have for all serious rpg'ers !!!!

Game feel old and boring... Poor graphics and sound. Just to out dated and not worth the money.
