this mobo is awesome i have an amd athlon 64x2 dual core proc and i gotta tell you it rocks i see only 1 flaw the south bridge fan is VERY cheap and it died on me after almost a year of use and it screwed up my mobo but thank god asus has a standard 3 year warranty

this mobo is good if your a gamer, but if u just want to check you email and play tetris go buy a pre-made e-machines

This board is really dependable. Far much better than the Biostar. Really got my money's worth. Its great!

Stable Board with a loud southbridge fan.......2006-02-23

I was able to overclock this board with a AMD 64 3700+ 90nm CPU to 2.7Ghz, for over 48 hours. Heat is not a problem with a good heatpipe cpu cooler. I am however very disappointed with the cheap southbridge chipset cooler fan. After about 200 hours on time, the cooler started to whine loudly. I had to remove the top metal fan shroud to make it quiet again. If I turn the system off and reboot an hour later the fan makes the noise for another 30 minutes.

The system in it's current configuration can turn out a SETI/BOINC WU in 37 minutes.

Serious Problems.......2005-12-24

Stay away from this motherboard. The BIOS upgrades are hit and miss. You might get lucky and get a good burn, but if you don't know what I'm talking about, definately stay away. I have tons of friends that hate this motherboard. I would recommend you go look at DFI motherboards if gaming or graphics is your priority. They Totally rock.
