I have a Dell Inspiron 500M and I am looking for a dramatic increase in LAN speed, mainly for backup and replication purposes. I was hoping for 10 times faster (100MB to 1GB), but got 10 times slower.

As other reviewers are having the same problem with other cards I wonder if there are limitations in the notebook or Cardbus architectures. My past experience with D-Link products have been generally good.
