4 out of 5 stars Very Cool Addition with Tablet Computer.......2007-06-11

I'm using this with a Windows XP tablet computer. It's very new, but I've been traveling with it for the last week so I'm getting to know it. Compatibility with the tablet and it was easy to configure for XP and my computer. I love the way it packs up so small, very convenient.

I'm still getting used to one idiosyncracy, which is that a few times it seems to have lost the connection. I suspect this has to do with the proximity of my bluetooth phone. I seem to be able to get it back by taking my bluetooth mouse (which, by the way, might also be a source of some error) and clicking on the control panel for keyboards, clicking on the bluetooth (it's there). This has happened just a few times and not since I started moving my phone away.

5 out of 5 stars I really like this keyboard!.......2007-06-10

I love this little keyboard! I have a Cingular 8125. The software set-up was quick and easy. The keyboard is very light and fits easily into my purse. The keys are firm, but very quiet. I do wish there was a separate line for numbers and symbols as opposed to the function keys. But even with that shortcoming I still like it. The stand holds my 8125 without any problems. I wouldn't recommend it for lap typing, but it does feel perfectly stable--like a full size keyboard--on any flat surface. I will eventually get another laptop, but for now, I feel like I have a good substitute with the 8125/Stowaway Keyboard combination. I recommend this product.

4 out of 5 stars Pretty Good - will take some time to get used to, though.......2007-06-08

I've been in the market for a really good PDA keyboard as the functionality of my Palm LifeDrive is seriously undermined without a keyboard. Anyway, after reading a lot about this one, I decided to go for it. I'm not one for reading manuals and such - I just jump right in & start playing with it; that's the easiest way to learn to use a new gadget as far as I'm concerned. It looks like this one is going to take a little extra time though. I'm happy with the key size b/c it's standard and very easy to type (my fingers don't feel cramped). It opens quite easily & I'm glad for a change, this one came with batteries. The left AND right 'Fn' keys are throwing me a little - that will take some time to get used to...and I consider myself a very seasoned (and fast) typer. With so many functions/cababilities stuffed into so few keys, (I don't expect anything else from such a compact keyboard...it must be quite a feat for the manufacturer), you have to literally stop typing and look for the exact key sequence you need. The stand is pretty good - not super solid, but from what I've heard of other keyboard stands, this one is passable. The break in the spacebar is not as much of an issue as some other users may make of it - that is a personal judgement call though. Overall, a good keyboard, it should turn out to be a good investment unless something completely weird happens. It will take some time to get used to & I feel like I'll definitely use it. The more I use it, the more comfortable I should become with it. I would recommend this keyboard; I loved that I got free shipping...that's always fun. Product arrived on time for me.

4 out of 5 stars Pretty darn good!.......2007-06-08

I like this keyboard. At first I used it with my Treo 650 smartphone, but now I'm using it with a Samsung Q1P tablet PC. It seems to work well with either, although I'm not sure how smoothly it would make the transition if I kept switching between the two.

I have to agree with other reviewers that the quality of this keyboard and its functionality is far better than other keyboards I've used. I had an infrared keyboard that I used with the Treo which was absolutely awful; it dropped many keystrokes and those that did make it to the Treo took forever. By contrast, this keyboard's keystroke response is very fast and reliable.

I do find it awkward to access some of the special keys, because there are two different Function keys that produce two different behaviors depending on which you hold down. It took me a while to adapt to this.

Also, navigation using the arrow and PgUp/PgDn/Home/End keys on the Treo was so inconsistent as to be nearly useless. In some programs on the Treo they did one thing; in other progams another, and in others nothing at all. Also the behaviors of the program-launch key combinations were pretty weird.

On the PC, I really miss the F1 through F12 keys. I haven't found any way to generate these keystrokes from the Stowaway. Some other standard keys, like Print Screen, Scroll Lock, and others seem to be missing as well, and a few, like the tilde, are located in unusual places so you have to hunt for them.

On the other hand, this keyboard is a marvel of miniaturization and light weight. Having a (nearly) full size and full function keyboard that you can (almost) stick in your pocket is fantastic. Of course, I'd love it even more if it were even lighter and thinner!

I bought the ThinkOutside Stowaway Bluetooth keyboard because I thought that it would be a great help to word processing/note taking/ and internet browsing. Turns out I'm really not using this much.

*Take this review with a grain of salt.*

The connection interface (with my Palm TX) is a bit clunky, especially when you try to set up the secure connection. I've given up, but the unsecured is fine. Haven't noticed any lag, but I feel the keyboard design has some flaws. Mainly, whenever you open/close, it feels very forced. A lot of resistance, so something is definitely bending. I've also noticed some small cracks around the aluminum exterior, but nothing big. When you do fold it, it as small as a pocketbook so you can easily carry it with you in like a overcoat pocket.

Networking and product design, I'd give it both a 4/5. In terms of use and practicality, 5/5.
