Customer Reviews:

1 out of 5 stars No standard RP-SMA Connector, Useless to Me.......2006-06-28

I can't comment on whether or not this antenna works well, apparently its connection is designed for specific wireless NICs, it does not come with an adapter to make it fit reverse-polarity SMA, as is found on most NICs and APs. They don't bother to mention any of this in the description.

They also neglect to mention that it's designed for 802.11b -- it doesn't say it *won't* work with the faster 802.11g networks, but I'm betting it would be less than effective with that equipment.

At $20 it isn't worth the time, trouble and shipping expense to send it back... So caveat emptor, do all your research before you buy, otherwise you'll be like me, stuck with yet another piece of wiring and/or hardware that in all liklihood I will never use.

4 out of 5 stars Antenna Specifications.......2005-07-14

This antenna measures about 16.0 cm from base to tip. The base is magnetic (don't put it in your laptop bag) and about 3 cm in diameter. The cable length is about 5 meters. It has only one connector. This is not a particularly good replacement for the small exterior antenna.

4 out of 5 stars Functional, yet a bit bland.......2004-08-31

I purchased this antenna to improve my in-car connection experience at wifi hotspots while traveling. My only complaint is that it came without any paperwork whatsoever. While it seems like a rather basic task to attach an antenna, I was hoping for a little guidance on antanna placement (for optimal performance), and which plug on the SMC2532W-B card to use (The card has 2 plugs, the antenna only one.)
As best as I can tell, it doesn't seem to matter which plug you choose, and placing the antenna in the middle of my car roof seems to work fairly well. I guess for the price you can't expect very much documentation. As long as you are aware of this when you buy it, I believe you'll be happy with this antenna.
