Speaker wire is made from copper wire that can corrode very quickly, rapidly deteriorating the performance of your cables and the overall performance of your system. To avoid this, always terminate your speaker wire with connectors. The kind of connector you need varies with the kinds of connectors on the back of your amp/receiver and your speakers. I purchased these connectors in order to hook up my in wall speaker wires. They are really great for connecting to speaker wall plates and make installation much easier and quicker. I am ordering another four sets to run on the other side of the wall plates. Pretty good price: matches Radio Shacks price for their brand of connectors.

Most will agree these connectors are well constructed and easy to put on, but some may say the price is higher than it should be. When it comes to A/V equipments/accessories, it's really a matter of personal preference. To the ultimate high end users, these are too cheap to be considered. For the average users, they're a decent pick. All I would say is I like their solid construction. With that said I don't think they'll make my HT system any better or worse. :-)
