I am an extreme Wi-Fi user, and this is hands down the best Wi-Fi card for a notebook computer sold on the market. Very highly recommended. This is the first D-Link product that I have ever recommended to anyone. Hopefully they will continue to break ground like they have with this awesome Wi-Fi card.

First of all this is a receiver of a wireless signal, NOT a transmitter! The guy above A.K. Smith "buddyroo" has no idea how wireless networking actually works. The reason he didn't get any improvement is because the signal he's trying to receive is the SAME! The signal at the college would need updated to a wireless N signal to improve the range transmission! If you want to boost the signal, set up a wireless repeater to boost the college signal (if that is even possible, depending on thier set up.) Notwithstanding the above, this is a great card. And if you plan on buying the new DIR-855 when is comes out soon, you'll already have a compatible card!
