I bought this thing with the HD kit planning on watching HD content on my 24" samsung monitor, what a joke that was. Not only was the feed somewhat choppy, it was tinny. I called support and they informed me that the HD connections were only there to connect to. They can't stream HD so basically you have to pay $50 just for cables. It was definitally easy to set up, but other than that this thing has a long way to go in my opinion. I was streaming on a home network I tested it remote but what is the point if at home it can't do anything.

New to Sling Box.......2007-06-09

I never thought TV was so important that you had to take your home channels with you. But, when stuck in Europe at a trade show and stuck watching CNN International and BBC, a customer told me they go back to their room and watch Sling Box. TV from home! Bragging about their DVR recordings, etc. I got home and bought this. It works great. Set up was a little tricky though. I get FoxNews now everywhere and can watch Video On Demand, DVR (TiVo) recordings anywhere with broadband access. Only negative: the video quality is a "6" on a scale of 1-10.

Great Solution to My Dilemma.......2007-05-30

I will be attending weekend grad school classes in Chicago this fall and couldn't bear the thought of going full Saturdays without college football (Go Horns!). My girlfriend gave me a Slingbox Pro for my recent birthday and I set it up this past weekend using a Slinglink Turbo powerline ethernet bridge. Thanks to the wi-fi at school, I'll be able to keep tabs on the games throughout the day (and class).

Side note: While I wasn't thrilled to pay another $129 for the Slinglink Turbo, I don't fault Sling for this as some previous commenters have done. I couldn't physically locate the Slingbox near my router and knew I needed some solution (wired or wireless).

Hardware installation was a snap, including the slick IR emitters for remote control of the Slingbox. The software install on a windows laptop was equally easy and I was slinging over the home network in no time and shortly thereafter via the internet.

Video quality is great in a small window on your computer's desktop, and good (but not great) in full screen on my 19" LCD monitor. The commenter who was dissatisfied with the video on his 32" TV or monitor has unrealistic expectations IMHO.

I'm very happy with this product and think it's going to serve my needs well.

Almost Delivers,Not BAD.......2007-05-28

I live overseas and miss certain broadcasts like Sports and TV serials not available where I live.I can get linked on Slingbox with no problem but when streaming at 330-360bps and trying to show on a screen the size of a 32" monitor,the picture is unacceptable(fuzzy,distorted and wavy).
If Slingbox can rectify this one,it is well worth the investment.Overall,I am satisfied with the delivery on a PC but am not thrilled with the picture quality on a TV screen.

The slingbox is an amazing piece of technology and works great for me.

However, when I was contemplating purchasing my slingbox, I asked several sources whether multiple computers could access the slingbox. The answer I got from everyone was that you could use the slingbox on an unlimited number of computers. Apparently, I asked the wrong question. It can be accessed from any computer with slingplayer software, however, only one computer can access it at a given time. Coming from a family of rabid UK basketball fans, I had envisioned family members living in areas of the county that don't recieve all of the games being able to watch the games in realtime online. Unfortunately, only one person at a time can access my slingbox. I write this simply to keep anybody with a simliar idea from expierencing the same frustration I have.
