Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Ignore all of the complainers, this is a great router! .......2007-06-10

I'm irritated by all of the negative reviews I've read from other purchases of this router. If you follow the instructions properly, you will have your network up and running in a matter of minutes. I am entirely satisfied with the speed and range of the 300N, and would recommend it to anyone who has the basic sense to read the instructions, if necessary, and install/configure it properly. On that note, the installation software is almost entirely automated, making it very difficult to screw up.

I must've spent over 3 weeks in hopes to find a simple router that works.
When I say "a simple router that works", I just mean that, nothing more.

I'd tried Belkin, Netgear before I got my hands on this Linksys router.
One of the reviewers said that you should try the Netgear gigabit edition before you start whinning about this Linksys. You know what? I just couldn't agree more with that comment.

When I had the Netgear, I was having to reset it about 10 times a day to establish a connection which usually lasted about 30 minutes.

I'd gotten used to getting ready to run to where the router is so that I can reset it. Well, I don't see myself doing that anymore.

I gave it only 4 stars even though I am 110% satisfied with the product because I've had it barely over a week. Who knows what would happen in the next 3~4 months...
If nothing disappointing happens during that time, I'd come back and give it 5 stars.... no questions asked!!!

The only thing I have a problem with this, is that its not Gigabit. You have a fast wireless connection, but bottle necks when it hits the 100Mbps lan connections. A few months later they came out with a Gigabit version. If you transfer large files, or any thing with video I recommend that you go with the gigabit version.

I just bought this router at best buy for $13 more than it is for sale here on Amazon. I should return it and get it cheaper, especially since 2 day is free.

Anyway, I read all the reviews here and almost returned this router without even opening the box. I was sitting here just watching TV so I thought I would give it a try.

It didn't even take me 15 minutes to setup. It was so easy. I was expecting problems and thought that I would have to call my network engineer brother. I did it on my own. If you have a newer computer I dont think you will run into the problems that some other people have. They are trying to fit an 8 cylinder engine in a Yugo. If you want the speed start with the right hardware and plug in the accessories...

I do not have an N card on my laptop, so I can not comment on that. I bought this because it will be useful for the next laptop I buy. Or if I ever really need the speed I will get a card.

1 out of 5 stars Worst experience I've had with a router in years.......2007-05-28

I have never had so many problems with a wireless router. I'm returning it and getting a different brand. I was getting about 10x worse than my previous 802.11g router with my desktop computer, and my MacBook Pro couldn't get a reliable connection even when sitting 5 feet away.

This thing is supposedly great if you can configure it correctly. Sorry, Linksys, but you used to make routers that you don't HAVE to configure. I have better things to do with my time, so I'm going to buy one that works out of the box.
