I needed to expand my physical network in my basement. I only had a single network cable leading from where my network originates on the main floor (DSL) from a router at location. I unwrapped the D-Link Desktop Switch, plugged in the unit, attached the cable in the basement that connects to my router upstairs, then connected two more cables to connect two computers in the basement and I can add two more devices if the need arises. This is a great little unit for the price.

I recommend this product. It has an excellent performance and works with no problems. If you are considering on buying a good priced switch and don't need more than 5 ports, this is the way to go!!!
