I ordered this on 4/1/07. this kit expired 3/31/07. I emailed amazon for a replacement and they sent another that was expired too.

Wrong item!.......2007-02-15

Add my name to the list of people who were shipped the wrong item and can't do anything about it. I ordered the Live Starter Kit for the original Xbox so I could create an account to play Phantasy Star Online. I received a 1600 point card for Live for the 360. I do not own an Xbox 360. This item is useless to me. I cannot return it to Amazon or a Target store.

Stay away from this one.

needs improvement.......2007-01-16

Problems began when I tried to scratch off the card containing the required code needed to sign up with xbox live. After scratching off the grey material hiding the code using a quarter, fingernail, and then a knife blade the code was so obscured it was not legible. I returned the xbox live kit for a replacement and was able to scatch off the card (using a razor blade)enough to barely make out the code. Why do they make this so difficult? Could this be due to the age of the kit I purchased? It was the 2005 version. Of course this was not mentioned at the time of order. After finally getting the xbox live set up and now able to play online I began having disconnection problems as well as error messages. I followed all the applicable fixes from the microsoft and EA game websites and still was having issues especially while playing Madden 2007. These disconnect problems cause you to have a loss counted against you and there is no way to resolve this. The bottom line is this system needs a lot of work and I would not reccomend it unless you have a high frustration tolerance.

I ordered this because it was listed under xbox 360, when it arrived my husband noticed that it was for xbox not 360 so I emailed the seller, the seller tried to tell me that it was compatible but the headset was not, which obviously I needed the headset if I ordered it for360 platform. When I called xbox 800 number they told me that its absolutely not compatible with 360. It also came in another language, I could not even read it and there was no game. All I got was some paper card in another language, a xbox headset that was put into a plastic bag and taped closed, and I dont know what the other thing is because I can not read Chinese. Please be careful if you ordering this for 360 because it is not what the listing says.

Should rate this low because Target sent me a points card not 3mo XBOX Live for XMAS...
Some are the real kits though with no points card....
