Customer Reviews:
Monster or not it worked.......2007-05-22
I bought this along with a monster cable... now I know monster is way over priced but I think this splitter is worth it.
I wanted to hook up my cable modem and my cable TV with no loss to my cable modem and it did what it said it would.
I wont give it 5 stars because I know it's over-priced.
great little gadget.......2007-05-14
This was perfect! high quality and no signal loss at all. I was completely amazed, because I needed this to split so I could tivo programs on my computer and watch tv on another tv. Great quality on programs and on the tv. Excellent product!
Perfect.......2007-05-08
Did exactly what I needed. Split the cable from my wall to the TV and Cable Modem.
Good but not a must-have.......2007-03-31
Prior to buying this splitter I had a $2 one from Walmart in the room, the cable input is split between TV and my cable modem. While the signal to my modem was always fine but the lower 10 channels or so for the TV are almost unviewable with statics. I bought this after reading some of the reviews here, hooked it up last night... It's definitely an improvement over the $2 Walmart brand, some of the channels (channels 4-10) are bearable now but the statics are still there, especially the REALLY low channels (channels 2 and 3) have a considerable amount of static, with channel 3 being the worst. Since it's only 20 bucks I guess it's still decent consider the bang for the buck, but definitely not a must-have, for I was really hoping the TV would look like the one in the living room, especially when one of my favorite shows air on channel 3 (NBC).
I recommend this splitter.......2007-03-02
I was having a lot of problems with cable access in my apartment and I wanted to do something about it. I had 3 tvs and two computers sharing the same cable signal, and in the bedrooms I was getting a lot of static on the tv at the upper range of channels. Well I got tired of it, and the cable tech (over the phone) said they tested the pipe going into the apartment and it was fine, so I decided to take matters into my own hands.
I went into the closet and found that they had used a really crummy low-end splitter, and after unscrewing the wall panel in my bedroom I found another one in there.
Well, I bought two of these Monster splitters and immediately replaced them. I am not going to say they fixed the problem, because they didn't, but they fixed it about 65%, which was enough to make the problem go away entirely in 2 of the rooms -just not in the 3rd one.
If you are having problems with signal degradation it might be worthwhile to check if the splitters are part of the problem by buying one and testing it out. It is a low cost, low hassle option, and you can ALWAYS use a splitter of your own somewhere.
I have had good luck with Monster products...
