The product is the best have ever encounter, the bluetooth enable you to operate the playstation 3 DVD, BLURAY, MUSIC etc any where in the house without having to point it directly to the system. The remote is easy to pair with the console and you can do lots of things very easily with it than using the controller, overall, it is the best.

With many gamers eager for the Playstation 3, they would feel that the price would be right for the system, while others are also interested in the new Blu-Ray DVD's itself. This definitely works that solution. This DVD remote for the Playstation 3 works very well for the system. You can use this to play all your favorite DVD's and CD's that you've recorded as well as standard DVD's that've you've bought from your favorite music or movie shop. It is very simple to operate, and works very well. The remote works great and handles very well. Although some might feel upset they'd have to pay extra for this accessory, rather than have it come with the PS3. Nevertheless, with technology changing, I really recommend this a whole lot.

I bought this remote with my PS3 a little over a month ago and it works great. It is easy to use and navigation with it is very easy. The bluetooth technology is great, you dont have to point at the console like IR remotes. You can point it anywhere and it will work perfect.

the only thing I guess I could say that's "bad" about it is that it is always on, there is no power off button.

When you turn off your PS3 with it that does not necessarily mean the remote is turned off.

Also if your PS3 is off and you accidently hit ANY button, not just the PS button, any button on the remote the PS3 will turn on.

Other than that I highly recommend this remote.

This remote adds all of the functions that we're used to having on a DVD player...and you can hit the view button to display the conspicously missing elapsed time (not shown on the front of the PS3).

You do have to program the PS3 to work with your specific remote prior to the first use.

It's a remote....Bluetooth, by the way, so infrared and RF programmable remotes won't work with the PS3 (very sad for my Harmony).

Decent remote.......2007-05-22

This is a pretty decent product as far as console remotes go. The price is VERY nice compared to the PS2's $40 remote from three years ago. Like everyone else said, you have to update your system to use the remote, but as long as you have broadband its no big deal seeing as Sony's online service is free. If you don't have broadband, then you can download an installer CD and manually upload the update. Its also a very nice upgrade from the controller since just grazing the controller can cause the movie to skip frames and bring up menus. I also just wanted to mention to the person who compared this to the Wiimote that the Wiimote is the console's ACTUAL controller so there is no real comparison between the two.
