Works great, even through a KVM.......2007-05-15

I have been using one of this at my workplace for several months now. I use it to connect a USB only pc through a Linksys KVM switch. It has worked without a hitch. Just this past week, we bought another usb-ps/2 adapter, but the purchasing agent bought the model 27225 from Cables to go and that one does not work through a KVM. So we are going to buy another Trendnet adapter instead.

I am using this thing with a Toshiba laptop, and a Microsoft mouse and keyboard. It installed as advertised and seemed great - until:

-Generation of random mouse clicks. Seems to do this in all programs and it is very annoying. Imaging editing in Word and having the cursor jump to the mouse cursor location, or just having random right clicks.

-Synchronization and random behavior of the CAP's lock. CAP's lock turns off and on randomly and then will not sychronize with the laptop keyboard. The only remedy I have found is a reboot.

Maybe I got a lemon, but based on other review on other sites, I cannot recommend this device.

I bought this after having several Y-mouse PS2/USB converters break. I use this with a Kinesis Essential PS2 keyboard, and with both a Linux desktop (plugged into a hub on a Dell LCD monitor) and a MacBook. It works like a charm.
