Product Description
Using AirPort Express and iTunes, wirelessly transmit pristine digital audio from a Mac or PC to a home stereo. Far superior to a traditional analog hook up, the Griffin XpressCable keeps audio digital right up to the moment it enters the stereo. And since the XPressCable uses standard Toslink & Optical connectors, it's compatible with most home theater receivers, as well as the PowerMac G5 and the new iMac G5.
Customer Reviews:
It's a cable. It's relatively cheap. It works........2007-03-26
I bought this so I could plug my PowerBook into my stereo's optical input. The mini-toslink connectors fit perfectly, and the whole thing sounds great.
Works fine for me.......2007-02-05
I wanted an optical cable to connect my MacBook to my home theater receiver, and this works just fine. I had no trouble with connecting it to my MacBook or receiver. The cable is a good length and is plenty flexible. I like it because it's cheaper than other cables that I've looked at, it comes with two mini-Toslink adapters, and it can be used as a regular Toslink cable by simply not putting on the mini-Toslink adapters.
I gave it four stars because there was a cut across part of the sheath when I took it out of the package, so I wasn't very impressed with the quality control. Luckily, the cut wasn't deep enough to penetrate the sheath into the optical fiber. Overall, I think that it's a good choice.
Just what I needed.......2006-12-16
This was just what I needed to connect my Mac Mini (mini-jack) to my Sony receiver (Toslink).
Not quite what I needed.......2006-07-22
The Griffin Xpress is the length I needed (3 meters/10 feet), but the mini-jack adapters are too big for the digital audio output on my Power Mac G4 (Digital Audio) music server. Also, the standard size Toslink connector did not fit well on my Yamaha receiver. It did not "snap" into place and bent (won't close completely) the protective flap on the Yamaha jack.
