Curling problem - Solution Suggested.......2007-06-12

This printer is not for you if you live in the Tropics or in an environment that is very humid (Humidity here averages 70% to 80%). Regardless of the paper used (including leading brands of paper suggested for laser printer use), it comes out curled. Really curled!!! Maybe an air-conditioned room or office would be better.

This is very frustrating especially if you want to make use of the Manual Duplexing Feature. Even if you are just printing on one side, the curled paper makes it quite a task to staple them together. The degree of curling is so severe that after about 5 pages have come through, the additional pages push the previously printed pages out of the tray (and on the floor if left unattended).

SOLUTION
If you have already bought the printer and is stuck with it, it is advisable that you store your paper in a very dry place, with low humidity. If the paper is already moist to the extent that you get severe curling, you can put them in a warm oven for 5 to 10 minutes (depending on how many sheets you have and how spread out they are). Just heat the oven to about 200 deg. F for a few minutes and then turn it off. Then put the paper in the oven. This works wonders!!! ....No curling once most of the moisture content has evaporated.

Awesome Printer.......2007-05-30

Got the printer in mail and was up and running within minutes. The network setup was a breeze. The setup was not able to detect the printer on my LAN, but when I provided the IP address, installation went fine. Now I am able to print from my laptops via wireless LAN. The printer is connected to the router using RJ45 though.

I would like USB and network cables along with the printer, but based on the price point, I cannot complain much.

I faced a little curling of the paper initially, but when I tried a bit thicker paper, I did not notice any curling.

Will never go back to Ink Jet printers again. Very good quality laser printer for the price.

Great Little Laser Printer.......2007-05-27

Just started printing a little more text. Inkjet ink is way too expensive for text. At this price the printer will pay for itself in no time. I'm printing in the the toner saver mode and it still looks great.

Defective product.......2007-05-25

This might be a good printer, but I received a defective one. It has a really bad short in it. Sometime it prints, and somtime it doesn't do anything. I didn't pay enough for it to make it worth my time returning it, so I plan to buy another printer pretty soon. I've heard other people say good things about Brother printers so maybe I just received a dud.

I bought the printer, my 83 year old father installed and ran it. No glitches, I'll to assume the software is really easy (I didn't get a frantic phone call)

No paper jams.
