Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Better than Netgear.......2007-01-12

I first purchased a Netgear router and pmcia card and , after endless frustration trying to get it to work I finally sent it back and ordered the Motorola router and card. The latter was relatively easy to install with the clear instructions that came with it and I have had no problems since.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent Adapter.......2006-12-11

Plug it in, run the software, let Moto manage the connection and you are good to go. Best card I have ever owned. I had one that was dropped with the laptop. The card was obviously broken and it still worked! I replaced the card because it would not get a strong signal, but I was amazed that the card still connected to the network even after it was broken.

THis particular card will work on any G3 or G4 Apple powerbook with a pcmcia card slot, all the back to the wallstreet maybe even the 1400. Just plug it in and OS X. will recognize it as an airport device. Very easy to configure!!

5 out of 5 stars Motorola WN825G - an excellent WiFi PC Card.......2005-11-01

I have had my WN825G wireless lan card (WiFi, 802.11g) since earlier this year. I use the card with my Linksys WRT54G. I have owned a number of 802.11b and 802.11g cards, and this one is the best one I have used yet. Signal strength is consistently superior to my other cards. Data speed and throughput are excellent. I have made direct comparisons between WiFi PC Cards in the same machine, connected to the same WRT54G, swapping out one card for the other in short order. I recommend it highly.

I cannot comment on ease-of-use. I am a lightweight techie, so messing around with drivers is actually somewhat enjoyable. I used the Moto capabilities first. I'm not 100% sure I have ever used it in pure XP mode. I like the capabilities offered by the Moto utilities, especially the ability to monitor signal strengths to a number of WiFi hubs, and to track signal strengths over time.

Note: I have not used any MIMO products, so these comments and comparisons are limited to pre-MIMO products.

4 out of 5 stars Get it when the price is right!.......2005-10-04

Just picked one up from a local store, it was on "Managers Special" for $14.99 / reg price $45-50. No idea why it was so cheap, so I got one for my notebook. Installation was a breeze in XP Professional, ignored instructions by putting card in first then only updating drivers from cdrom. I do not like 3rd party wireless utilities, XP has it built-in. Connected right away, configured mac filter, no broadcast sid, wep encryption on my Linksys 54g Router......sweet. I was shopping for cards for the past 3 days looking at...netgear, linksys and belkin planning to spend $35+. Truthfully I would never buy motorola for retail...$15 you got a deal.
