Nice combination of price, functionality and features.......2007-06-13

I bought one of these devices to replace a Microsoft cordless desktop system that had gone bad.

I find that it has greater range than the Microsoft products I have used previously, although I did have to get used to the "flat" keyboard ergonomics again after using the flowing Microsoft keyboards. I gave up on the Microsoft product after two keyboards failed within 12 months.

I like that it does not have such a huge "dongle" as the Microsoft products had and the range of the connection is about double the Microsoft keyboards' range -- I work about 12 feet away from the computer and sensor unit without any problems. I had to keep the Microsoft sensor dongle about 4 feet away to keep from losing my conenciton, which meant running a cable to extend its location closer to my recliner.

This Logitech does everything I was doing with the other desktops for half the price and I like it so much I bought a second one for the computer in my bedroom which I use as a personal digital recorder.

Batteries running out.......2007-06-11

I bought my Cordless Desktop LX 300 3 weeks ago, and I have had to change the batteries in the mouse already!! The batteries were the last thing that I checked because I couldn't believe that they had run out so soon. but yup when I replaced the batteries my mouse started running again....

When I am on the road with my laptop I will have to carry spare batteries with me!! not good.

Good Keyboard, not so good mouse.......2007-06-10

The keyboard was terrific, but not the mouse. The mouse looked very cheap and it does not have a button to turn the battery off. Well, for the low price, I guess you can't expect too much. Keyboard itself was well worth the money!

Although it does not mention it anywhere in the specs, this setup REQUIRES a PS2 port on your PC for the mouse to work. If you bought a newer computer like I did, you may not have a PS2 port. I stupidly thought USB ports would be sufficient but Logitech thinks otherwise.

I received the cordless desktop on time and in perfect shape. Just took it out of the box and hooked it up and am now using it.
