First, I have a G4 iMac snow globe. This USB hub matches that very well. Style is important. Second, this has a mess of ports. Expandability is important. Third, this hub isn't strictly USB powered. It can but but it also has an external power source. This means it can support not just passive data routing but also charging my Treo and powering my Canon USB-powered scanner. Load capability is important.

A great hub and one I really recommend. This was the hub I was looking for and I'm happy I got it the first try.

Pretty straight forward. It's a USB 2.0 hub. It works. What it does in spades over any others I have tried is stay put. It also looks pretty decent. Contrary to what the other reviewer said, the ports work fine and are plenty deep.

Great product. I thought having all ports on the same "side" would be a problem, but not at all. I say "side" because it's round. I should've said the back. 7 ports seemed like an odd amount. I thought 6 or 8, but in hindsight 7 is fine. My keyboard, mouse, bluetooth, and palm dock are always plugged in. Then I have the included free led lamp plugged into the top all the time. Leaves me 2 free ports for temporary misc use. Like the camera, and flash drives.

Now I can plug my scanner, printer, iPod, camera, wireless mouse, cell phone & an external hard drive into my laptop (MacBook Pro) with a single USB connection. The hub is small enough to be unobtrussive on my desk and yet substantial enough not to slide around, should the occassional cord be moved.
The DomeHub is small enough that I'd consider it portable: its small & light enough to fit nicely in a laptop bag, should you (like me) need to travel and occassionally set-up an 'office' on the fly.

A USB hub is something you want to install and forget about. This one works perfectly, plus it looks cool, and has one port right at the top which is great if you have items that need to be connected/disconnected often.
