Simple but effective!.......2007-06-06

I bought this hard drive to store my ProTools recording projects. I first used the hard drive with my Dell 5150 Inspiron laptop and had no trouble what so ever. No software was needed to be installed. The drive worked perfectly. No problems. I recently purchased a Apple iMac and transfered all my files from my pc over to the mac using this drive. Then I reformatted the drive to transfer and save files on the imac. Again no software need. Easy operation and works great with both pc and mac. I recommend this drive to anybody looking to store or backup files.

Great Back-up Drive.......2007-05-15

I first purchased this drive in April last year to back up my home computer files and digital pictures. I have been very pleased with the performance and have no complaints. Today I'm purchasing a second one so I can back up the files on my laptop as well. The BounceBack software that comes with it is also easy to use and gets the job done.

It took no time at all to get it going, fired right up and has been doing a fine job storing my info. Only complaint: it looks like a toaster or a mini heater. The body could use a redesign, a new "do". Also, it lags a little when I press the start button, never sure if it's on until I see the blue light. All in all, for 200 gigs, I'm more than satisfied with this product.

I have absolutely zero computer skills so the fact that I was able to hook this drive up and get it to work with out any problems proves how great it is.

Dell XPS410 computer + Bounceback software Incompatibility.......2007-03-18

The combination of a new Dell XPS410 system and the Seagate 200 GB USB 2.0 works well UNLESS you choose to install the CMS Bounceback software included with the Seagate Drive. This product allows for automatic data backup but may render the computer system inoperable due to an apparent driver conflict. The result is the Blue Screen of Death. Possible fixes are available; however, I had to perform a system restore to an earlier point, prior to the software installation to recover computer functionality. This appears to be an Intel/Dell problem and a serious one. So the drive part of the product works fine but installing the accompanying software can result in a very bad day. You can use Google to find out more and possible fixes.
