Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Great Alternative to Wireless.......2005-09-22

If you're looking for a quick, inexpensive, reliable alternative to wireless home networking without having to string cables all over your house, this is it. Plug 'n' play worked flawlessly via USB on both my laptop and desktop. The only con is that your computer that hosts your Internet connection must have the power "on" in order for your other computer(s) to connect to the Internet.

5 out of 5 stars Quick and Easy.......2003-11-29

Purchased a Linksys Phoneline router and USB Phoneline network adapter and instantly networked my home office and kid's computer. Now we all have the DSL!

Very happy

4 out of 5 stars Amazed at techology.......2003-07-11

This is one that I have seen that I could actually buy.
It has everything that I need for a phoneline network adapter.
However I am not buying at this time. How ever it will be on my wish list.
I'm sure someone will buy itfor it is a good item

5 out of 5 stars Works just as it should.......2002-09-03

I could not rewire my house. There was too much distance and too many obstructions for wireless - and I was concerned about security. I installed the Linksys phoneline router and USB phoneline adapters. Everthing installed easily. Works great. And has been working great for about a year. Slower than Ethernet (I can tell when I transfer files between PCs) - but faster than my DSL connection - which is all that matters. Anyone who wants a no new wires installation should consider this approach.

1 out of 5 stars A waste of money.......2002-08-26

I am sorry I have never read these reviews before it would have saved me money, time and effort. I connected it as explained and it worked for about 6 months. I then had a hard drive crash and had to replace the hard drive. Now when I try to hook it up the USB recognizes that I have an unknown piece of hardware but won't recognize it as the Linksys Phoneline adapter. If I unplug the USB cord and plug it back in it will then recognize it until I reboot and have to go through the unplugging and replugging again. Since it worked before with the same computer it has to be that this product is made poorly and will not last. I now have several hundred dollars in a router, two internal phone cards, a USB adapter and no network. I will never purchase another Linksys product. I gave it one star since that is the lowest available.
