4 out of 5 stars GREAT.......2007-05-12

For the price, u cant beat this deal. the adapter works perfectly and havent had any problems whatsoever. Only thing is u HAVE TO USE THE WIRELESS UTILITY that comes with it. other than that, the thing simply WORKS.

3 out of 5 stars Not the smoothest install and NO rebate!.......2007-02-24

I bought this wireless dongle from a local computer shop in St. Davids, PA in Dec. 2006. The only reason I chose it was because the salesman was hawking its thirty d o l l a r rebate, which would bring the cost down to five bucks. Turns out this thing wasn't even worth the thirty-five I spent on it.

First of all, it's not as easy to be recognized on either my WinMCE (Windows Media Center) PC or my WinXP laptop. It required software to be installed to get it to cooporate. It was recognized, but refused to work, apparently because it doesn't get along with the Zero Configuration of wireless networks on its own. I had to install the software on both systems, use that software, and finally later on was able to switch to the Zero Config within Windows (I prefer that method).

I have another wireless dongle I bought from C o m p U S A (store brand) previously and it worked perfectly so I am comparing this dongle to the other one. The earlier dongle installed smoothly and I could use it right away with no config issues. It was also cheaper. If I have to get another one, I will definitely go back to that store and get another of the same.

My other dissatisfaction comes from the e-mail it took weeks to get back from Gigafast saying they regret that OnRebate has not been fulfilling their rebate requests and that Gigafast has done all they can. In other words, "Oh, well, you're SOL!" Not satisfactory at all. I woouldn't buy another of these even if it was on sale. But I will say that now that it is installed properly it does work fine.
