Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars WIFI Adapter.......2007-06-08

The Buffalo WIFI adapter outperforms and much easier to install and use than some of the "namebrands" which I previously tried.

5 out of 5 stars Much better signal than the Intel 2200BG built in to my Dell D600.......2007-06-06

Took me a while to figure out that the wireless built in to my laptop is the reason I have connection problems both at home and in Mountain View (free city-wide Google Wifi). With this adapter I went from constant "cannot connect" messages to seamless websurfing.

I'm thinking about getting an antenna to really improve my Google Wifi range.

Only disadvantage is having the card stick out of the laptop. But it works GREAT!

5 out of 5 stars Works Great.......2007-04-12

Got it working with very little effort and it connects much better than my previous solution.

5 out of 5 stars works with old lombard/pismo (or newer?) macs/powerbooks with pci slot.......2007-03-15

You must have 10.3.9 and the newest version airport for it along with a patch (issued by Apple) that allows third party cards to work with it. Once installed it should work (worked on my 333 mhz lombard powerbook).

Its nice that it has a hole on the side to add an antenna.

5 out of 5 stars simple and effective.......2007-02-21

I bought it to improve the WiFi range at home over the internal WiFi in my laptop. It installed effortlessly. (It is important to install the software from the included CD first.) I tried it with my old router, a Linksys WRT54G, and saw modest improvement in the number of dropped packets (tested using the DOS "ping" command). When I added the matching Buffalo router (AirStation Wireless G High Power), the improvement was dramatic. Another advantage of this card is the jack for an external antenna. I attached one to improve throughput wherever I go in my large house, and it has helped even more. The bottom line is that for wireless internet throughput, signal strength is much more important than the rated maximum data rate of your adapter, and the combination of this card and its matching router is excellent. The Amazon price for the combination is great, too. Highly recommended!
