Improved the service between two metal building. But is still dependent on windows in both builds to get signal out.

After buying the stand and attaching my hi-gain antenna I improved my signal strength and was finally able to reach the true input/output speeds
of my adapter card with no signal drop.

Not surprisingly, the standard short antenna located among the cables on the back of a desktop computer didn't work well.
I tried changing to high gain antennas on both the computer and access point (HGA7S, $49 list and HGA7T, $72 list, both overpriced), but saw no improvement. Then I tried this antenna stand, to move the computer's antenna to a better location (determined by trying several locations within reach of the cable). The signal went from "very low" to "very good".
I also moved the access point to a place closer to the center of the house (in the top of a closet on the floor below).
Highly recommended, although it would be nice if the cable was a little longer.

The exterior antenna did help as it got the antenna out from behind a cabinet. It did improve the signal strength for that reason, but I'll bet there are cheaper ones that work just as well.

My signal strength increased from 1 bar to 4 bars when I installed the antennae stand on the wall. My PC tower sits on the floor, and the signal had to go thru the PC and several walls to the router. This device made my connection go from very unreliable, to excellent. Good solution for my installation.
