Customer Reviews:
Linksys KVM2KIT is great product.......2007-03-31
Linksys KVM2KIT is a great product.
Easy to install. :) Does work as descibed in product manual.
I would recomend this product.
Not that reliable but better than DLINK.......2007-02-18
My first Linksys KVM Died in less than a year but they replaced it no questions asked (Mouse connection died)
Then after ~3 years the second died. (Same problem) I bought a Dlink KVM. Big mistake. Can't use any USB mice regadless of the PS/2 adapter. The beeping is annoying (yes, you can disable the beep) and it requires a third keystroke.
Maybe I'll get a third Linksys. I liked the more simple toggle and darn it, at least it worked for a while.
Great for the price.......2007-02-09
I've had this switch for years, has not failed me. Only drawbacks are that it does not support audio and it uses PS/2 (not USB). But if this works for you, then get it.
Does the job as promised.......2007-01-22
This is exactly what I was looking for: not too expensive, not much hassle with the cables - they are integrated with the unit, and no need to reach for the button to switch computers - simply press "Scroll Lock" twice to go from one computer to the other.
Cables are pretty long, which is good: longer that I need at the moment, but I may appreciate the extra length in the future.
Simple Solution For a Growing Home Office.......2007-01-11
With an expanding need for computing power at home (personal and business use here) we invested in a new tower and kept the old one for storage and use as a printer/file hub. Saved a few $ by keeping the old monitor, started out switching monitor cables between the towers - bad idea unless you love moving equipment! - and using two keyboards/mice to maintain them. That lasted about a day.
Started researching solutions, found the KVM switch to be the answer...researched those and found the KVM2KIT. Despite a few negative reviews I decided to stay with Linksys; I have three other Linksys products at work here and they've been good to me. Three months later and it's been great - works as advertised, incredibly simple to install, sturdy cables and connections that won't come apart. I'd recommend one to friends and would purchase one again.
