Intel Pro a winner.......2007-03-11

The biggest problem with my $4,000 laptop was its wireless NIC. Replacing the factory NIC with an Intel Pro was the best thing I could do. The price of the Intel Pro is inexpensive. The Performance, great. No longer do I wonder why transmission rates have dropped to 5 or 2 Mbsp; they are always at 54 Mbps. Drivers? Not an issue. They wee built into XP and Vista.
The great performance and ease of use is exactly what I expected. I wasn't disappointed.

Upgrading that 3 year old laptop a winner !.......2007-01-12

My 3 year old gateway laptop with Intel Centrino Mobile technology works great but I was getting frustrated trying to connect to WIFI with only a B internal card. Since the laptop was out of warranty anyway, ignoring the do not open sticker on the wireless cover on the bottem of the laptop was no problem, and installation was a breeze, just uninstall the old drivers in the add/remove programs area of Windows XP, shut down,replace the card, then boot up and install the new drivers for the B/G card I had downloaded prior to this from Intel. Works like a charm without having to deal with an external card.

Great Wireless for Compaq Presario 2100US.......2006-09-26

My Compaq Presario 2100US came with a Lan-Express Wireless B. I would get horrible reception with it in my house unless I was right next to the router. I upgraded to a Linksys MIMO G router, but it didn't help much. (The MIMO G did help my work laptop with this Intel 2200BG card.)

Since the Intel 2200BG card worked great in the work laptop, I decided to get a second card for my Compaq Presario 2100US. I installed the card, and the computer recognized it as a "Network Adapter" but did not configure it. I then ran the 2200BG driver install, and the computer recognized the card immediately!

It works great, and the only difference is the wireless button on my computer no longer works with the Intel card -- no big deal though.

Not as effective as external cards.......2006-05-15

I bought the Intel pro card to replace my external wireless card. The Internal Intel pro wireless card is ineffective since it keeps losing connectivity and signal strength. Hence I have inactivated it and have been using the external NETGEAR wireless card.
