Product Description

D-Link DWL-M60AT Directional Indoor Antenna is a 6dBi directional antenna, giving you extended wireless signal range in a concentrated direction. This 6dBi antenna will also improve signal quality at further distances than an omni-directional antenna. It connects to a variety of D-Link Wireless PCI Adapters, Routers, and Access Points. Using a SMA connector or the included conversion adapter (RP-SMA to TNC), the D-Link DWL-M60AT also easily connects to other existing wireless networking devices.

Customer Reviews:

3 out of 5 stars Not a silver bullet.......2007-05-25

I've several wireless antenna's to hook to a distant access point. For my purposes, this one did little. Even when I pointed it directly in the direction of the router. I finally bought a more expensive antenna that gave me an extra 15% of signal strength. Yet I see others who have had great luck with this product. I think there are quite a few variables to increasing signal strength, you almost have to try a few different products and see what works best for your case.

4 out of 5 stars Not Bad For The Price.......2007-05-19

The antenna boosts the range somewhat and is much cheaper than upgrading all netword nodes to a newer wireless standard that promises more range. A nice feature of the DWL-M60AT is that is can be directed where you need it. My router is the corner of my house and I don't want to boost the signal to neighbors across the street. An advantage of having an antenna separate from the router is that one can elevate the antenna without moving the router.

3 out of 5 stars Good but weak.......2007-05-13

The antenna was easy to install and worked well, but it provided only a little more reach than the ominidirectional Linksys 7dBi that it replaced.

5 out of 5 stars Does exactly what it says and what I needed.......2007-05-13

The card I have is a D-link DWL-G510 internal. I have never liked wireless because it always seems to be inconsistant especially when gaming online. Having my wireless router two rooms away(20feet) I would only get 2-3 bars(40%) and it would drop randomly especially when gaming. In my last house I just ran a long cord and was fine with it. When I moved to a nicer house, this wasn't going to work. I tried several different cards, but they never seemed to make any difference.

My last option was to try a nicer antanae and see if it really made any difference. The M60AT got good reviews and was priced ok, so I gave it a shot. I am not dissapointed. My connection went from 2-3 bars to 5 and from 40% to 90-100% instantly. My connection no longer drops and I can finally play games online while connected wirelessly.

Pros: Doubled my signal strength, no more inconsistant connection.
Cons: Having to buy it in the first place, I shouldn't need to spend more money just to get a decent connection.

2 out of 5 stars Useless.......2007-02-08

Replaced one of my DIR-625 router omni-directionals with this, carried my signal strength meter around the house and saw absolutely no change. Still looking for a solution.
