Customer Reviews:
Great board IF you get the new A1/T1 revision and update BOIS.......2007-05-16
First of all, just eVGA's great support is enough to go with this board for an 680i SLI chipset verses others. Second, the A1/T1 revisions fix most problems with the board, especially if you have quad core (Just remember to update to a new BOIS version). The new BOIS DO fix Vista problems such as general slowness due to HPET problems and some even say problems some may experience with X-Fi soundcards crackling/popping. If you do have an AR motherboard, eVGA's excellent customer service will gladly RMA the old board and send you out a new one.
No longer a current model.......2007-05-02
Undoutedly this is a fine mainboard, but it's no longer the current model. The current model as of approximately March or April 2007 is 122-CK-NF68-A1, which apparently is closely related to this model but offers more quad core overclocking features. (I confirmed this with the manufacturer by phone and email.) Here is a link to the eVGA site that also explains the differences: http://www.evga.com/support/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=57729 . Also, Amazon sells the newer model for $40 **less** than this older model.
So far, my experiences with eVGA products are very positive. They seem well-made and well-supported and offer lots of features, including convenient overclocking and good performance. These are solid products.
Great Boards come with Great problems ><.......2007-03-28
Overall, this is an excellent board, if you get one that works well that is.
EVGA does have an excellent RMA program, just make sure you register within 30 days of purchase to get the lifetime warrenty with free cross-shipping.
Many of these boards have been known to be ram killers for high voltage ram. Unfortunetly I got one of these boards, which killed my OCZ PC8500 ram. So I need to RMA the mobo and ram. Check out the EVGA forums on their website for more info. PC6400 (DDR2 800mhz) seem to work well. Pretty good support from EVGA. BTW, this board has been replaced with a new revision: 122-CK-NF68-A1, which fixes or improves OC ability for quad core CPU users. I hear there are other improvements. However, EVGA has not acknowledged them. Good board overall, but there may be chance you get a bad board. When these suckers are up and running, excellent board.
