No Complaints - Works Good.......2007-05-25

After much Amazon and other research, I bought this router and have no complaints. This was my first attempt to setup a wireless network and it was very easy. The installation CD worked as expected and connecting the router was simple enough. My wired network functioned perfectly right away and a few minutes later my wireless network was also on-line and functioning perfectly. I know others have had some problems with this router, but I have to say my experience was good and I would recommend it.

This is a sweet 'g' router. I was able to install it in exactly 4 minutes and was up and running with two laptops and one PC (wireless) without a single glitch. Range and speed are exactly as advertised. Give it a try - you won't be disappointed. Well Done Belkin! Again!

I've had great success with Belkin wireless products in the past. I've installed several for friends and everyone has been very satisfied. My lucky streak has ended with this device.

Setup was not successful with the CD. I got things working through the router's web interface. I always feel a bit uneasy about equipment that starts working for no apparent reason. Once up, the router worked great for wired computers but has a habit of dropping the wireless connection.

I updated the firmware which was problematic as well. The "Update Firmware" shortcut on the web interface connected me to what I later discovered was an outdated file that the router would not accept after multiple attempts to update. Had to go to the support website and download the updated firmware there. Come on Belkin, that's just plain sloppy. Had no problems updating with that version.

Wireless continued to be problematic.

I hate to do it, but I'm sending it back.

Product worked very good, once I replaced my 2.4GHz phone with a 5.8GHz, and have had no issues since replacing the phone. Range is very good and setup was easy. I get network coverage at acceptable levels everywhere in my 2000+ square foot house, in my yard, and down the street. Especially liked the security features this product has and the ability to completely lock down access to the wireless router.

One interesting note, when using a 2.4GHz phone the router would routinely "lock up" and have to be powered off in order to restore connectivity. This effected both the wireless and wired clients.

Would definately recommend this product (prodvided you don't have a 2.4GHz phone), one of the strong points of this unit versus the Linksys was the fact that this product has a lifetime warranty. The Linksys only had one year.
