Product Description

This adapter operates in the 32-bit bus master mode, delivering high throughputs with little stress on the host's CPU. Running at PCI clock speeds independently of the network clock, it transfers data directly to/from the host's memory, by-passing the CPU to alleviate the host's workload. The adapter's single RJ-45 interface auto-negotiates between 10BASE-T Ethernet and 100BASE-TX Fast Ethernet connection, and full/half duplex, completely without any need for users to set configuration.

Customer Reviews:

1 out of 5 stars Actually NOT IEEE 802.3x Compliant!.......2007-05-25

Contrary to what the pre- and post-sales product literature says, 802.3x Flow Control is NOT implemented in this product--at least not with the provided Win2K driver software. The driver software on D-Link's website is even older than than provided on the CD.

During autonegotiation, this product advertises to its link partner that it does NOT have 802.3x flow-control capability. Nowhere in the Win2K driver settings is there a place to enable this capability.

This is a big disappointment, since this product is one of the very few whose pre-sales literuature boasts of support for flow control. I bought this product specifically because it was reputed to support flow-control--and it doesn't.
