i am a former mac user and this is my first mac in 10 years. I go back to System 7 with my history with Mac. I was afraid the feel would be too close to the linux interfaces which even today, with all the effort put into them have an amateurish feel to them (out of the box, of course). I found the menu bar up top a welcomed surprise. The unit was very simple to upgrade with a $3 putty knife and 2GB of ram for $75 after rebate.
I use vmware to keep 2 corporate VPN's up at the same time. It has made my home office more productive, with a feeling of nostalgia.

I had a old slow computer that it took 4 minutes for one webpage to load. I deicede to get a mac because it does not need virus protection and i heard great things about it. I perfer Mac's operating system over the PC's. The PC kept closing and posting error reports and was always afraid eventhough i had virus protection from my internet provider that my computer would crash. This computer is so quick in less then a minute you are on the internet. It also has nicer desktop and screensavers then a PC. The only complaints i have is that the print is too small when you go online, you can only listen to music samples if you download modzilla, and i wish it would have atleast a program like wordpad for i can type a letter. I know the mac does have Office but it is way to expensive.

This computer is just what I needed for my first Mac. Everything works great. Great way to save money if you already have a monitor, mouse and keyboard. No need to buy a $1,200 Mac system. I would suggest upgrading the ram to 1GB if you will be using advanced programs such as Phototshop, etc.
