Nightmare product!!!.......2005-10-31

Problems with both hardware and drivers make this product a disaster. Biggest problem is system crashing when signal strength is low or lost. Therefore, any maintenance on the access point means that every computer on the network crashes to blue screen. Additonally, installation requires downloading additional programs to delete any old drivers. ALSO, you cannot update the drivers for a wireless adapter on a wireless connection!!! The DWL-AG660 cannot be used in an encrypted environment. WPA is a non starter and WEP is unstable. Tech support has been rude and unhelpful, especially when you tell them that you are having problems with this particular adapter. I hate being so brutal on a review, however this product has surpassed poor and moved into insulting.
I inherited a D-Link network and have found that although the products are extremely difficult to get set up, they work fine when finally set up. The DWL-AG660 is not up to what I have come to expect from D-Link.

A superb card.......2005-07-06

I've been using this card for about three months now. I am able to switch between networks flawlessly. The signal strength is higher than many PCI cards I've used. A friend also has the same card and he is just as happy with it as I am. I have used this card with different Unix/Linux Distros, Windows 2000 SP4, and Windows Xp SP2. The A/B/G functionality makes monitoring and hopping between different networks very convenient. I believe many people who give this card a bad review are having problems with their routers, but they just don't know it. I've tested this card with multiple routers, some keep a good connection, some don't. Keep in mind that there are always going to be a few bad eggs in every batch.
