Customer Reviews:
Nice drive. Horrible company.......2007-04-07
My Terastation is just over a year old. I have replaced two drives so far. last week it failed to power up. I have been trying to work with their tech service for over a week. They never have anyone available to talk to you. They do not answer e-mails. After trying for three days I finally got a tech on the phone by waiting over an hour. He said he would replace the unit. He needed to fill out some paperwork and would call me back in 10 minutes. Two days later I got ahold of someone in sales who said she did not know anything about it and there was no record of my call. Then the next day I got an e-mail form to fill out for an RMA. I did and two days ago and have been unable to reach anyone since. Their support is so bad I would never buy anything from them again.
Nice Looking Drive with LOTS of Problems.......2006-10-02
I purchased this 2TB drive about 6 months ago. Since then, I have had nothing but trouble. We have had to flash the OS 2 times and this weekend the unit went completely down. Now in order to get a replacement unit, I have to pay an additional $1900 for them to send me a replacement and then when they get the unit back, they will refund the money. This drive is a nightmare and I will never buy a Buffalo product again.
Simple HUGE storage.......2006-07-01
Love this product.
Huge, Simple, Reliable. Only gripe I've found so far: I thought it would integrate w/ my AD environment as a member server. Instead, it appears to query users and groups from AD using LDAP. While that does keep things in synch, it does not allow me to secure things at anything but the share level. No nested shares, no per directory or file permissions.
Keep this baby on a UPS as it takes almost 17 hours after a power outage for it to scan it's entire RAID configuration... Again, it's a sick amount of storage!
