Great mouse but problematic.......2007-05-24

The mouse itself is amazing and works excellently at any task I put it to. However, the charging cradle does not match up with the mouse to charge it. I had to bend and break off the black plastic back of the cradle to get it to charge. Now I discover that the power input for the cradle is a simple tiny piece of wire that just ripped out when I removed the power cord. It is a great mouse but the power issues render it useless and I will not be buying another unless the design has changed.

In the course of my job, I use this mouse constantly throughout the day. I started off using ball mice, then graduated to optical, and now this. This mouse is without question the best mouse I've ever used.

Pros:
I bought it for its accuracy, and it hasn't let me down. It's easy to use on the pixel level, but doesn't get bogged down there when you are using it for "normal" tasks. Overall, it's movement is very intuitive. It sits very comfortably in my large hands. Can't comment on the special function buttons though as I don't use them much.

As for reliability, I've had mine for about a year and a half and it works as good as the day I got it.

It's also very effective for games (such as BF2).

And best of all, it looks cool when people walk by my desk! :)

Cons:
1. The biggest issue for me is that I almost always have to spend some time fiddling to get it sit in its cradle right so it will actually charge. Since even the cheapest cordless phones do this perfectly, the technology is a no-brainer, which is why I find this so baffling.
2. It would be nice if the extra buttons worked "out of the box."
3. It's no big deal, but I'm not a fan of the extra cord for the adapter. Wish it was USB powered.

If you haven't tried a Laser Mouse, you really need to. This mouse does what it says - it works on almost every surface. It is loaded with features that make working on a computer much simpler - all my controls are at my fingertips instead of on the screen. I love the rechargable batteries that are in this mouse. They last for over a month for me, and the recharge is as simple as placing the mouse in the recharging base overnight (if I ignore the charge indicator and it goes dead while I am using it, a simple 5-10 minute recharge will give about 4 hours of use). If you are looking for a new mouse, give this one a major look and/or test drive.

Love this thing, makes using a computer so much more enjoyable and efficient. Has way more customizability than anyone could ever use, but I'd rather be over-served than under.
